I entered this industry 31 years ago, following graduation from The University of Toronto, and received my Chartered Life Underwriter status in 1995. Under the influence of my Father, a 50 year veteran of Insurance with Great West Life, and learned success meant doing things a certain way, the RIGHT way. No shortcuts, integrity, knowledge, work ethic and a passion for the business. Adhering to these practices has allowed me to consecutively make the President’s Council, Million Dollar Round Table and conference, and various other awards of prestige within the industry.
As vital as it is to believe in the product you market, you have to see the people. You cannot wait for people to come to you, you must actively go out to visit clients regularly, whether that be by phone, zoom call, sending out a birthday card, asking for introductions to new people and above all show them your enthusiasm and your belief in how and what you do can significantly affect their lives and their future. This is how I operate on a day to day basis.
